It was a night to remember on Saturday 24th January, as one lucky lady scooped a whopping £250,000 on the National Bingo Game at Mecca Bingo in Leeds.

The 56 year Grandmother, Mrs P Sharman, was given a felt tip pen by her granddaughter before heading off to play the evening game. She often plays the electronic game, but on this rare occasion was playing the free January Jackpot Joy paper ticket, and so she used the lucky pen to circle her winning numbers.

The regular player goes to bingo most weeks with her sister. The sisters have an agreement to always share their winnings, and have split the Jackpot money 50/50.

This big win couldn’t have come at a better time, as the winner was recently made redundant from her job. Now she doesn’t need to feel worried about her finances and plans to spend the money on learning to drive and getting a new car.

The sisters celebrated at the club on the 28th February, where they enjoyed a night of bingo with their friends and were given the VIP treatment.
